Zhongna Energy's Sodium Battery Technology Validated by Consumer Clients, Enters Order Fulfillment Phase

In late August 2024, Zhongna Energy announced that its NFS (sodium iron sulfate) + anode-free technology has been validated by consumer electronics customers and has entered the order delivery phase. This technology enables sodium-ion cells to achieve an energy density of 180 Wh/kg, with projected unit costs for cylindrical cells as low as RMB 0.2 per Wh. The company has already secured ton-scale orders. Zhongna Energy has enhanced the voltage platform through its proprietary NFS material, making it compatible with existing lithium-ion battery systems, allowing downstream manufacturers to directly reuse their current production equipment. Additionally, the anode-free architecture eliminates conventional anode active materials and auxiliary components, simplifying the manufacturing process. Based on this technology, the company’s pouch cells achieve an energy density of 180 Wh/kg, while its 18650 cylindrical cells deliver a capacity of 1,000 mAh. The relevant products have already passed safety tests and are now in mass production and volume delivery.
