On August 28, BYD officially released interior images of the Sealion 08, which will be available in both five-seat and six-seat configurations and is set to launch on September 2. The new model features the "God’s Eye" 5.0 intelligent driving system, equipped with LiDAR and a small blue indicator light for intelligent driving functions integrated into the exterior rearview mirrors. Its dimensions are 5,115 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, 1,800 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,030 mm. The interior adopts BYD’s Ocean Aesthetics 2.0 design philosophy, featuring a light beige premium aesthetic. Extensive soft-touch genuine leather materials are used throughout, complemented by mother-of-pearl textured decorative panels on the door trims and center console. A full-width, adjustable ambient lighting strip and oval-shaped chrome air vents further enhance the cabin ambiance. The dashboard integrates a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch adaptive rotating floating central touchscreen, while retaining a limited number of physical buttons for essential functions. In the five-seat variant, the outboard rear seats feature leg rests, and a storage compartment is located beneath the center rear seat. The six-seat version adopts a 2+2+2 layout, with second-row independent airline-style seats offering armrests, power adjustment, and leg rests. These seats are upholstered in densely perforated leather and come paired with overhead entertainment screens, an onboard refrigerated/warmed mini-fridge, and a three-zone automatic climate control system. Powertrain options include both all-electric and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variants. The PHEV model utilizes BYD’s fifth-generation DM technology, combining a 1.5T engine (maximum output: 115 kW) with an electric motor. The single-motor version delivers a peak motor output of 200 kW, while the dual-motor variant features 200 kW motors on both front and rear axles, achieving a maximum CLTC pure-electric range of 400 km. For the all-electric versions, the single-motor configuration offers two power outputs—320 kW or 370 kW—while the dual-motor setup pairs a 215 kW front motor with a 370 kW rear motor. Two battery pack options are available: 92.093 kWh and 115.072 kWh, delivering CLTC-rated ranges of 710 km, 800 km, and 900 km respectively. Additionally, the Sealion 08 is equipped with ultra-fast charging technology, BYD’s proprietary Cloud Ride-A suspension system, dual-chamber air suspension with road preview functionality, and rear-wheel steering.
