Kia Corporation said on Friday that its labor union has voted to approve this year's wage agreement, concluding annual wage negotiations without a strike for the sixth consecutive year. The company stated that out of the union's 24,710 members, 91% participated in the vote, with 64.1% of those voting in favor of the agreement. Kia and the union reached a tentative deal on Tuesday, averting a planned strike just one day before it was scheduled to begin.
