Recently, China's first vehicle-mounted, mobile "token factory" was officially unveiled. Designed in a standardized 40-foot shipping container format, the factory integrates computing, storage, networking, and cooling systems into a single vehicle unit. The trailer can be coupled with an electric tractor and supports deployment of up to nine server racks. It features integrated power and communication quick-connect interfaces, enabling multiple units to rapidly interconnect and form a mobile computing cluster. From arrival on-site to full operational readiness, the setup and commissioning process takes only 6 to 8 hours. Under a 120-kilowatt power supply, the mobile factory delivers 50 to 100 petaflops (P) of computing power—sufficient in theory to support inference tasks for two domestically developed large AI models. Equipped with domestic computing hardware and an energy management system, the unit can relocate to the nearest substation to tap into low-cost electricity generated from renewable sources, thereby enhancing renewable energy utilization. According to estimates, this mobile approach to computing deployment can reduce overall operating costs by approximately 25%. Moreover, the vehicle-mounted factory enables rapid station-level deployment, providing emergency computing capacity ideally suited for large-scale infrastructure projects that require flexible, low-latency computing resources during construction phases.
