BMW M plans to launch its first all-electric M3 production model in 2027, which will debut alongside the next-generation combustion-engine M3. During Monterey Car Week 2026, BMW M publicly unveiled the M Concept Neue Klasse, clearly outlining its high-performance electric vehicle roadmap. Built on the Neue Klasse platform, the vehicle features sixth-generation eDrive technology, an 800V high-voltage architecture, and a high-voltage battery with over 100 kWh of energy capacity. The car will be equipped with four electric motors, enabling torque vectoring and individual motor control, all coordinated by a central control unit dubbed “Heart of Joy,” which integrates powertrain, braking, and vehicle dynamics management. Inside, it features bucket seats made from natural fibers, while the exterior showcases a wide-body design, yellow racing-inspired lighting, and aerodynamic components styled after the M4 GT3. According to Frank van Meel, CEO of BMW M, this concept car signals the technological direction for future all-electric high-performance M models.
