Valeo Launches Mass Production of Next-Gen Dual ECU in Changshu, Jiangsu

On August 28, 2026, Valeo announced in Changshu, Jiangsu Province, that its Powertrain Systems business group has officially commenced mass production of its next-generation dual-power electronics controller. This product, developed independently by Valeo’s China team, will be deployed in the new energy vehicle (NEV) platform of a leading Chinese automaker. Marking the first mass production of Valeo’s new global platform in China, the project progressed from definition and development to mass delivery in approximately one year and will subsequently be rolled out globally. The new integrated dual-power electronics solution features a single-board, single-chip architecture and supports high-performance silicon carbide (SiC), silicon (Si), and hybrid SiC/Si configurations. Valeo stated that this platform’s modular and scalable design enables rapid response to customer needs while ensuring the highest industry safety standards for vehicle systems. Valeo Powertrain Systems has established multiple R&D and manufacturing sites across China, including in Changshu, Shenzhen, and Jingzhou. In the first half of 2026, the business group secured several new powertrain orders in China, including two 800V SiC electric drive projects, two new dual-power electronics controller nominations, and six new nominations for next-generation 7kW onboard charger (OBC) assemblies. The Jingzhou Global Innovation Center for Powertrain Thermal Systems was inaugurated in February 2026, and a newly built R&D center in Nanjing—the headquarters of Valeo Powertrain Systems in China—is scheduled to become operational in 2027.
