On August 31, Shanghai Jidu Automotive Co., Ltd. and its provisional administrator issued a statement via the JiYue App, stating that certain unauthorized third parties have recently been using improper technical means to crack and flash vehicle infotainment systems and related software, charging vehicle owners for these services. The company emphasized that such activities have not received any form of authorization or endorsement from the company and do not constitute official services. According to the current Warranty Policy, installing uncertified third-party software or modifying the vehicle’s infotainment system without authorization constitutes unauthorized modification. Any vehicle malfunctions or damage resulting from such actions will be addressed by the company in accordance with applicable national laws and regulations, the "Three Guarantees" (repair, replacement, and return) provisions, and the warranty policy. The statement further noted that unauthorized intrusion into, access to, control over, or modification of relevant computer information systems for profit may violate provisions of the Cybersecurity Law of the People's Republic of China and other applicable laws, potentially leading to administrative, civil, or even criminal liability. The company stated it will lawfully preserve evidence and reserves the right to report suspected violations—those infringing upon the company’s rights or endangering vehicle and user information security—to public security authorities and relevant regulatory bodies, and to pursue legal accountability accordingly. Owners are urged to carefully verify the legitimacy of non-official services to avoid compromising vehicle safety and warranty entitlements. Additionally, according to publicly available information, in May this year, the Shanghai No. 3 Intermediate People's Court ruled to accept the application for substantive consolidation and restructuring of Shanghai Jidu Automotive Co., Ltd. and five affiliated companies. Under the supervision of the administrator, these entities continue to operate their core businesses normally, legally safeguarding the rights and interests of users, creditors, and other relevant parties.
