On August 28, Geely unveiled for the first time the complete core technology architecture of the Galaxy Warship 700 and its dedicated Rechargeable EM-T off-road hybrid powertrain system at its AI New Energy Off-Road Technology Launch Event. The vehicle is equipped with a 2.0T off-road hybrid-specific engine supplied by Horse Powertrain, which has achieved a certified mass-production thermal efficiency of 48.41%. Paired with this engine is Horse Powertrain’s 3DHT200 three-speed off-road hybrid-specific transmission, comprehensively calibrated across all dimensions for off-road scenarios: first gear features a high gear ratio for low-speed off-road recovery and steep hill climbing; second gear is optimized for urban commuting and regular unpaved roads; and third gear is exclusively designed for high-speed cruising. The entire powertrain delivers a combined output of 830 kW and wheel-end torque of 13,920 N·m. The system incorporates a fully active dual-cooling setup, boosting cooling efficiency by 50% and ensuring stable operating temperatures for the power unit under extreme conditions such as sustained hill climbs and high-temperature traverses. Geely’s global validation network spans five major test regions and 147 countries and territories, with plans to establish 16 specialized testing facilities. The Galaxy Warship 700 underwent a development cycle exceeding three years, involving 859 prototype vehicles and accumulating over 6.11 million kilometers of testing across more than 80 real-world off-road scenarios, passing 7,933 validation standards. In summer 2024, Horse Powertrain conducted high-temperature and high-altitude tests in Xinjiang, collecting on-road data and performing calibrations focused on engine hot starts, thermal management, drivability, motor and clutch performance, and energy management. The Galaxy Warship 700 is now available for customer experience at dealerships nationwide.
