On September 2, Liu Jiaming, CEO of Qijing Auto, revealed on social media that the new mid-to-large intelligent SUV, the Qijing GX7, will come standard with an L3-level autonomous driving architecture from its base trim. The vehicle will officially open for pre-orders on September 4. Co-developed by GAC Group and Huawei’s Qiankun, the GX7 is positioned as a “spacious five-seater intelligent versatile SUV,” measuring 5,099 mm in length, 2,006 mm in width, and 1,750 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,070 mm. All GX7 variants are equipped with Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 intelligent driving system, featuring one 896-line dual-path imaging-grade LiDAR and three blind-spot LiDARs, totaling 38 intelligent sensors across the vehicle. Its L3 autonomous driving architecture incorporates full-chain redundancy across eight core systems—power supply, computing, perception, positioning, communication, steering, braking, and interaction—enabling the system to safely pull over even if a single component fails. Inside the cabin, the GX7 is the first model to feature HarmonyOS Cockpit 6 and includes a “one-touch bed mode” that transforms the interior into a flat sleeping space in just 20 seconds. Powering the vehicle is a 1.5T super-range extender paired with a triple-motor setup, delivering a combined output of 550 kW, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately three seconds, and offering a total range exceeding 1,500 km. Qijing Auto was jointly launched by GAC Group and Huawei in September 2025 as a premium intelligent new energy brand. Liu Jiaming stated that the goal is to ensure the L3 architecture remains technologically relevant for at least five years after China’s national L3 regulations take effect in July 2027.
