Over 70% of Listed Automakers Profit in H1; Commercial Vehicle Sector Rebounds Fully

As of the completion of the 2026 interim reports, all 22 listed automakers—including 19 Shanghai and Shenzhen-listed vehicle manufacturers, as well as Geely Auto, Chery Automobile, and BAIC Motor listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange—have fully disclosed their results. Among them, 16 companies reported profits, accounting for 73%, and 10 recorded year-on-year growth in net profit, representing 45%. According to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), commercial vehicle sales reached 2.297 million units in the first half of 2026, up 8.3% year-on-year, with heavy-duty truck sales rising by 22.6%, medium-duty trucks by 25.3%, and buses by 5%. Commercial vehicle manufacturers listed on the A-share market generally achieved dual growth in both revenue and net profit.
