Recently, FuYou Truck and Qiji Battery Swap, a subsidiary of CATL, signed a strategic cooperation agreement to jointly advance the electrification of long-haul freight logistics. Under the agreement, FuYou Truck will leverage its digital freight capacity scheduling and long-haul operational capabilities, integrating them with Qiji’s nationwide battery-swap network to provide battery-swapping solutions for electric heavy-duty trucks on its platform. In the initial phase of the collaboration, the first batch of chassis-based battery-swap electric heavy-duty trucks from FuYou Truck’s platform will be connected to Qiji’s battery-swap service network. Qiji will deploy battery-swap infrastructure along high-demand, time-sensitive long-haul corridors—particularly those serving e-commerce logistics—to ensure reliable energy replenishment for electric trucks. It is estimated that, compared with conventional charging methods, chassis-based battery swapping can improve time efficiency in long-haul transportation by over 40%. In May 2024, China’s Ministry of Transport and ten other government departments jointly issued the “Implementation Plan for Promoting Large-Scale Adoption of New Energy Heavy-Duty Trucks,” which sets a target of achieving a 40% market penetration rate for new energy heavy-duty trucks by 2030, with a total fleet exceeding 1.6 million units—accounting for approximately 20% of all heavy-duty trucks. Moving forward, the two parties will combine their strengths in intelligent freight networks, battery-swap infrastructure, and battery technology to accelerate the large-scale deployment of new energy heavy-duty trucks in road freight transportation.
