On September 6, NIO released its latest data on its battery charging and swapping network: it has built a total of 9,322 charging and swapping stations nationwide, including 4,070 battery swap stations, 5,252 charging stations, and 30,280 charging piles, having cumulatively provided over 120 million battery swap services. Compared to the 9,210 charging and swapping stations announced on August 16, NIO added 112 new stations in three weeks, including 50 additional swap stations and 365 more charging piles. On August 7, NIO inaugurated its 4,000th battery swap station—the company’s first fifth-generation swap station—in Quanzhou, Fujian Province. Fifth-generation swap stations are now operational in seven cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou. On the same day, NIO’s cumulative battery swap services surpassed 120 million. As of August, NIO had delivered a total of 1.26 million vehicles. In the first eight months of this year, it delivered 262,893 vehicles, an increase of 57.9% year-over-year; August alone saw deliveries of 35,836 vehicles, up 14.5% year-over-year. Based on the cumulative delivery of 1.26 million vehicles, each vehicle has undergone approximately 95 battery swaps on average. Additionally, on September 6, NIO completed its 91st “Power Highway”—the Jinan Heritage Loop—a 1,849-kilometer route equipped with 13 battery swap stations covering cities such as Taiyuan, Jinzhong, Linfen, Yuncheng, Jincheng, Changzhi, and Yangquan. NIO plans to expand its Power Highway network to 100 routes by the end of this year, with the Silk Road Battery Swap Route set to be completed in September.
