Tesla Cybercab Features Rare-Earth-Free Motor with Uncompromised Range

On September 6, Tesla unveiled a new drive motor at its Cybercab event this week that does not use rare earth metals. Tesla CEO Elon Musk later confirmed this information on social media. The motor is reportedly 18% smaller in volume and 25% lighter than other high-performance drive units, while also offering higher efficiency. The Cybercab has received an energy consumption certification of 165 Wh per mile. Currently, this motor is used exclusively in the Cybercab model, with approximately 45 Cybercabs registered for operation in Texas.
