Li Auto Announces In-House Batteries for All Models; 2026 i6 to Launch in Q4

Li Auto announced that its self-developed battery has been integrated into the Li L8, Li L6, and Li i8 models, with plans to roll it out across all future vehicle models. According to its Q4 2024 deployment schedule, the initial deliveries of the new Li MEGA will use CATL’s 5C ternary lithium battery; once production readiness for its in-house battery is achieved, all subsequent units will fully transition to Li Auto’s self-developed 5C ternary lithium battery. Similarly, the first batch of the Li i9 will be equipped with CATL’s 5C ternary lithium battery and will also fully switch to Li Auto’s self-developed 5C ternary lithium battery after ramping up its own battery production. Additionally, the company will launch the 2026 Li i6 in Q4 2024, featuring Li Auto’s self-developed 5C battery and in-house Mach chip. User reservations for this model will open at the end of September, with deliveries commencing in early November.
