On the evening of September 8, reports emerged that, according to recent claims, BYD management disclosed during a conference call that orders for vehicles supporting flash charging technology had accumulated to approximately 250,000 units, with sufficient production capacity expected by Q1 2027. In response, BYD stated that the aforementioned report was inaccurate. On September 4, in its investor relations activity record, BYD noted that in 2026, flash charging has proven so popular that it is constrained by battery production capacity; meanwhile, demand for power semiconductors and silicon carbide has surged rapidly due to AI infrastructure development. On March 5, BYD launched its second-generation Blade Battery, capable of charging from 10% to 70% in five minutes and from 10% to 97% in nine minutes. On August 28, BYD completed its 10,000th flash charging station and announced a target of building 20,000 such stations by year-end. These 10,000 stations span 332 cities, including 4,228 "Dream Fulfillment" stations that realized the charging station requests of 74,281 users. First- and second-tier cities have achieved 100% coverage of flash charging stations, with core urban areas of cities like Shenzhen, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Xi’an, and Chongqing averaging one flash charging station every three kilometers.
