On September 8, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released the draft announcement for new products under Batch No. 411 of the "Announcement on Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products." BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd. filed an application for its new-generation all-electric SUV, the iX3, with the specific model submitted being the iX3 30L. The same batch also includes the new-generation BMW i3 sedan from BMW Brilliance. According to the filing information, this vehicle is a battery electric multi-purpose passenger car, measuring 4,885 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width, and 1,634 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,005 mm. Its curb weight is 2,230 kg, gross vehicle weight is 2,680 kg, rated seating capacity is five passengers, and maximum speed is 180 km/h. The vehicle offers two tire options: 255/40 R21 and 255/45 R20. Optional equipment includes brake calipers, rims, trim strips, a rear roof-mounted camera, and an ETC onboard unit. It comes standard with an Event Data Recorder (EDR), and its Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) model is IBC2, manufactured by ZF Group. In terms of powertrain, the vehicle is equipped with a drive motor (model HD1001N0) produced by BMW AG, delivering a peak power output of 235 kW. The energy storage system uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells manufactured by Yibin Sanjiang Times New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., with the complete battery pack assembled by Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL). During the Chengdu Auto Show in 2026, reservations for the vehicle officially opened, with deliveries scheduled to commence in November. The national uniform pricing for each variant is as follows: the new-generation BMW iX3 30L starts at RMB 269,900; the new-generation BMW iX3 40L xDrive starts at RMB 299,900; and the new-generation BMW iX3 50L xDrive starts at RMB 339,900.
