On September 10, 2026, Li Xiang, CEO of Li Auto, stated in a post that the Li Auto i9 is the debut flagship model based on the company's second-generation pure electric vehicle platform. In the post, Li disclosed the following data: the Li Auto i6 has ranked among the top three best-selling models priced above RMB 200,000 for seven consecutive months; on China’s 18 busiest national expressways, there is on average one Li Auto 5C ultra-fast charging station every 122 kilometers; Li Auto’s R&D investment has exceeded RMB 10 billion annually over the past three years; and the drag coefficient of the Li Auto i9 is 0.215. The Li Auto i9 will be unveiled on September 16 at 19:30. The model has already been included in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s (MIIT) 409th batch of the “Announcement of Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products,” released in July. According to the announcement, the Li Auto i9 measures 5,225 mm in length, 1,970 mm in width, and 1,752 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,168 mm. It features front and rear drive motors with maximum outputs of 150 kW and 250 kW, respectively, produced by Inovance United Power System Co., Ltd. (Suzhou) and Jiangsu Li Auto Drive Technology Co., Ltd. The vehicle uses a ternary lithium-ion power battery, with individual battery cells supplied by Sunwoda and Jiangsu Contemporary Amperex Technology, and the battery pack assembled by Zhejiang Li Auto Battery Co., Ltd.
