On September 10, smart China announced the launch of an early-bird program for the all-new smart #2. A deposit of RMB 298 secures early-bird benefits, which include a complimentary premium paint color, priority access to the first wave of test drive invitations, and a chance to win prizes worth up to RMB 20,000. The all-new smart #2 will make its global debut at the 91st Paris Motor Show, held from October 12 to 18, and is scheduled to launch in the Chinese market in mid-November. Positioned as a two-door, two-seater micro all-electric vehicle, the smart #2 is built on smart’s self-developed ECA compact electric architecture. Its dimensions are 2,751 mm (2,764 mm) in length, 1,669 mm in width, and 1,555 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1,875 mm and a minimum turning diameter of 6.95 meters. Initially, a two-door hardtop variant will be offered. In terms of powertrain, the vehicle is equipped with a rear-mounted electric motor supplied by Geely’s Xingqi Technology, model TZ160XS00A, delivering a peak output of 60 kW and a top speed of 140 km/h. It features a 35.7 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack provided by CATL, offering a CLTC-rated range of nearly 400 kilometers. The car supports DC fast charging, enabling a 10% to 80% charge in approximately 20 minutes.
