Recently, a video showing a man running naked inside a workshop has been circulating on social media. Online rumors claimed the incident occurred at CATL’s Yibin facility, allegedly triggered by a team leader denying a production worker permission to use the restroom. After the video spread, a spokesperson for CATL responded, stating that the location shown in the video was not a CATL facility and that the company had filed a police report requesting an investigation. On the evening of September 10, 2026, Ruipu Lanjun issued a statement titled "Statement Regarding Recent Online Video," confirming that the incident actually took place at its Jiashan facility. According to the statement, the employee involved voluntarily submitted a resignation request due to personal reasons and demanded immediate processing. However, as company procedures require a certain amount of time to complete the formalities, the two parties failed to reach an agreement on the timeline, after which the employee lost emotional control and engaged in extreme behavior. Ruipu Lanjun stated that the incident was resolved on the same day under the supervision of public security authorities; claims circulating online—such as “restricting employees’ access to restrooms”—were inconsistent with the facts; the company has reported the matter to the police and apologized to affected industry peers and the broader public.
