Relevant authorities launched a nationwide survey on the production capacity and utilization rates of power and energy storage batteries at the end of 2025. Starting from mid-May 2026, new domestic projects for power and energy storage batteries have been temporarily suspended. Lithium battery projects that had already obtained all required approvals—including environmental impact assessments and energy consumption evaluations—prior to May 2026 remain unaffected. By the end of 2026, companies demonstrating higher capacity utilization rates will be granted approval to proceed with their next-phase battery projects based on evaluation results.
