Benteler has submitted its "Hot-Stamped Battery Tray Solution" for the Best Technology Practice Application Award at the 8th Golden Editorial Awards 2026, in the category of Powertrain Electrification and Charging/Battery Swapping. This solution integrates high-strength liquid-cooled plates with both cooling and underbody protection functions. Compared to aluminum alloy alternatives, the weight increase of the two hot-stamped solutions is kept within a range of 10% to 15%, while costs are reduced by 40% to 50%. The solution comes in two configurations: The integrated monolithic design consists of a hot-stamped deep-drawn tray and a liquid-cooled plate, with the hot-stamped liquid-cooled plate integrated via laser welding technology. This configuration has already entered the integration validation phase with leading battery pack customers, and related testing is currently underway. The modular assembly design features multiple hot-stamped beams joined by spot welding and arc welding to form a cavity-structured frame. The hot-stamped top and bottom plates are laser-welded into a hot-stamped liquid-cooled plate, which is then connected to the frame via spot welding to form the complete battery tray. Sample parts based on this configuration have already been delivered to domestic OEMs, and validation activities are progressing. The theme of the 8th Golden Editorial Awards 2026 is “Chinese Solutions Go Global.” The awards leverage a supply chain database covering 320,000 enterprises and evaluate submissions through multiple dimensions, including company applications, industry data, and expert reviews.
