Wang Huinong Says New Energy Vehicle Industry Has Become Shenzhen's Third Pillar Industry

On September 10, at the 20th anniversary celebration of the Automotive Talent Committee of China Association for Talent Research, Wang Huinong, First Secretary of the Party Committee of Shenzhen’s New Energy and Intelligent Connected Vehicle Industrial Chain, stated that the new energy vehicle (NEV) industry has become Shenzhen’s third-largest pillar industry, with the city aiming to build itself into a world-class automotive hub of the new generation. Wang noted that Shenzhen’s automotive industry is supported by three core enterprises: BYD, Huawei, and Hangsheng Electronics. He added that Shenzhen has prioritized three strategic emerging industries: new energy vehicles, artificial intelligence, and biopharmaceuticals. Over the past two to three years, the industrial chain Party committee has visited more than 20 universities, including Tsinghua University, Jilin University, and local institutions. Shenzhen’s strategy is to leverage its industrial chain and talent advantages, collaborate with the Automotive Talent Committee, advance joint talent development, and support mature enterprises in the industrial chain to expand overseas.
