Netizen Shares Video of Accidentally Hitting Accelerator, Triggering Car's "Anti-Misacceleration" Feature Without Moving Forward

On September 13, a netizen recently shared dashcam footage showing an incident where they accidentally pressed the accelerator while driving. According to the user, after stopping at a red light, they leaned sideways to pick up earphones that had fallen onto the rear seat and inadvertently stepped on the accelerator pedal. A Rolls-Royce Cullinan was parked directly ahead. The dashcam video shows the vehicle was in Drive (D) mode at the time. After the driver mistakenly pressed the accelerator, the pedal lit up, but the car did not move forward. Instead, the “anti-misacceleration” feature was activated, and the in-car assistant “Xiao Yi” repeatedly issued voice alerts saying, “Please lift your foot.” The driver then pressed the brake pedal, prompting the system to automatically shift into Park (P). After manually shifting gears again, the driver drove away. In the comments section, other users shared similar experiences: one mentioned pressing the accelerator while reversing but the car didn’t move—only later discovering a child near the rear wheels; another said their vehicle remained stationary when they pressed the accelerator while reversing close to a wall, with the system warning of an obstacle behind and asking whether to proceed.
