Free Highway Toll for Small Passenger Vehicles (7 Seats or Fewer) During National Day Holiday, October 1–7, 2026

The Mid-Autumn Festival holiday in 2026 will run from September 25 to 27, totaling three days. The National Day holiday, including adjusted workdays, will be from October 1 to 7, totaling seven days. Workdays will be held on September 20 and October 10. According to the "State Council Notice on Approving and Transmitting the Ministry of Transport and Other Departments’ Implementation Plan for Waiving Toll Fees for Small Passenger Vehicles During Major Holidays," toll-free travel applies to four national statutory holidays—Spring Festival, Qingming Festival, Labor Day, and National Day—as well as their consecutive holiday periods. In 2026, expressways will not be toll-free during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday. However, during the National Day holiday period from October 1 to 7, small passenger vehicles with seven seats or fewer (inclusive) will enjoy toll-free access on expressways. Toll-free eligibility is determined by the time a vehicle exits the expressway toll lane; vehicles exiting within the designated toll-free period will qualify for the exemption. Expressway traffic is expected to remain at high levels throughout the holidays: - The pre-holiday peak period will occur from 18:00 to 20:00 on September 30. - Outbound congestion will peak from 10:00 to 12:00 on October 1. - Return-trip congestion peaks are anticipated from 16:00 to 18:00 on both October 7 and October 8.
