2028 Volvo XC60 T8 Debuts with 126 km All-Electric Range

Recently, the 2028 Volvo XC60 T8 made its official debut. The new model features a higher-capacity battery pack, boosting its all-electric range to 126 km. Exterior-wise, the vehicle receives a mid-cycle refresh with a redesigned front bumper, grille, and hood, along with next-generation “Thor’s Hammer” LED headlights. The wheel arches on the sides are more pronounced, and the rear is fitted with a new rear bumper. Inside, the overall layout carries over from the current model but adds cardamom brown leather seats and brown ash wood trim. The car is equipped with an upgraded infotainment system featuring Google Gemini as standard and an 11.2-inch central touchscreen. On the safety front, the new XC60 T8 comes with a redesigned 360-degree panoramic camera system enhanced with surround-view sensors and a cyclist detection feature. When the vehicle is stationary and detects an approaching bicycle near the doors, it issues an alert. Additionally, the car retains advanced driver-assistance features such as active braking support. Under the hood, the 2028 XC60 T8 is powered by a plug-in hybrid system combining a 2.5L four-cylinder engine and an electric motor, delivering a combined output of 455 horsepower and peak torque of 709 N·m. It is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system, enabling a 0–60 mph (approximately 0–96 km/h) acceleration time of 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 180 km/h. The 2028 Volvo XC60 T8 is expected to go on sale by the end of 2027.
