On September 16, 2026, at Leapmotor's 2026 Annual Technology Launch Event, the company officially unveiled the LEAP 5.0 New Mobility Space Architecture. Vehicles based on the LEAP 5.0 architecture will be launched in 2027. This architecture frees up cabin space through an integrated HVAC unit layout and releases front compartment space via a rear-mounted powertrain layout, increasing cabin volume by 19% compared to the Leapmotor D19. With a vertically oriented damper layout and compact aluminum die-cast shock towers, legroom is improved by 37.5%. The reconfigured vertical space supports a native integrated smart pop-up roof and a flat, low floor, raising interior height by 63.7%, adding 800 mm of vertical space, and lowering floor height by 70 mm. The architecture achieves 100% utilization of wheelbase space, resulting in a cabin space efficiency exceeding 100%. The architecture features integrated high- and low-voltage energy management, reducing static energy consumption by 36% and low-voltage losses by 10%, achieving nearly 100% energy utilization efficiency. Additionally, it debuts a super-integrated HVAC unit that combines components such as the compressor, refrigerant valve, and heat exchanger into a single module, reducing the number of thermal management system parts and freeing up dashboard space by relocating the HVAC housing externally.
