Omwai Group Launches Distributed Braking System and Secures Mass Production定点 from Chinese Automaker

Recently, Omoway Group officially launched its next-generation electro-hydraulic braking product—the Distributed Braking System. The product has secured its first mass-production project nomination from a Chinese automaker, with mass production scheduled to begin by the end of 2027. This distributed braking system integrates technologies from Omoway’s MK C-series Integrated Braking System and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system, enabling fully electronic control—from the brake pedal to safety-redundant braking functions—developed on a modern electronic/electrical (E/E) architecture. In terms of architectural design, the system employs a dual-actuator cooperative operation mode. Under normal conditions, both actuators jointly participate in braking; under degraded safety conditions, each actuator can operate independently to fulfill braking functions. In degraded mode, the system maintains four-wheel braking capability and supports up to SAE Level 5 (L5) autonomous driving applications. Regarding spatial layout, the system eliminates the mechanical hydraulic connection between the brake pedal and the braking system. Except for the electronic brake pedal, all other braking components can be installed in the vehicle’s front compartment. Additionally, the system features multi-path power supply and redundant electrical network design, and its unified electronic brake pedal solution is adaptable to various vehicle architectures, including left-hand/right-hand drive configurations and internal combustion engine/electric vehicles. Omoway stated that the Distributed Braking System is suitable for battery electric vehicles, hybrid models, and internal combustion engine vehicles equipped with redundant E/E architectures. Since its market launch in 2016, the company’s MK C-series Integrated Braking System has accumulated sales exceeding 15 million units.
