NIO In-Car Maps Require Users to Keep Either AutoNavi or Baidu Maps

Recently, some NIO car owners reported that the vehicle's infotainment system requires users to choose between AutoNavi (Amap) and Baidu Maps as their map provider. According to screenshots shared by owners, the system displays a prompt stating that navigation services will be optimized to better allocate system resources and deliver a more stable performance experience. Users must select one preferred map application to continue using; the unselected map app will be removed. If no selection is made by September 27, 2026, the system will automatically retain the most recently used map application. NIO customer service clarified that partnerships with both map providers remain valid and either option can be selected. The change is primarily aimed at enhancing the vehicle system’s stability, and users may keep whichever map they prefer.
