Bentley's First All-Electric SUV, Torcal, to Launch on September 23

Bentley’s first all-electric SUV, the Torcal, will make its global debut on September 23 at 19:19. The Torcal represents Bentley’s fourth model line, joining the Continental GT series, Flying Spur, and Bentayga, and marks the brand’s inaugural fully electric vehicle. The new vehicle will be hand-built at Bentley’s headquarters factory in Crewe, UK. Bentley has established a dedicated production line within the Crewe facility, housed in a building originally constructed in 1938. The floor of this building has been leveled to accommodate automated guided vehicles (AGVs) for transporting vehicles under assembly. This new line forms part of Bentley’s self-funded £250 million (approximately RMB 2.3 billion) investment plan for the Crewe factory. In 2025, Bentley opened a new design studio in Crewe, also located in a 1938-era building, with the Torcal among the first models primarily developed by this studio. Fox Brothers, a company based in Somerset, supplies wool fabric for the Torcal’s interior. The Crewe factory currently employs over 4,000 people and spans 521,000 square meters, including 167,000 square meters of indoor space. It simultaneously produces the Continental GT, Flying Spur, and Bentayga, while Bentley’s Mulliner division handcrafts continuation classics such as the Speed Six at the same site. According to previously disclosed information, the Torcal is expected to feature an 800-volt electrical architecture, dual-motor all-wheel drive, a maximum output of approximately 850 horsepower (625 kW), and a 113 kWh battery pack, delivering an estimated WLTP range of about 595 kilometers (370 miles). It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under three seconds, measures roughly five meters in length, and offers a five-seat configuration.
