On November 3, at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show, Toyota's booth showcased a self-driving electric vehicle concept called KidsMobi. The product is designed specifically for children under 130 cm tall. The vehicle features an enclosed body with wheels wrapped inside the shell, roof sensors styled as ears, and front LED lights that can simulate facial expressions. The cabin uses an upward-opening canopy, with seating for only one person inside. Once the canopy closes, the onboard AI assistant UXFriend activates, allowing it to chat, interact, and play with passengers during the ride. Toyota says KidsMobi has autonomous driving capability, while children can still participate in driving operations. Toyota claims this approach could ultimately be safer than traditional school buses. KidsMobi is currently in the concept stage, and related technology development will continue after the show. At the exhibition site, Toyota also displayed another concept product aimed at young children called Chibibo. It is a quadruped robot with a spider-like design that can work collaboratively with people and vehicles, undertaking last-mile delivery tasks. It can help children carry schoolbags, lunch boxes, and other items, and its leg structure allows it to navigate narrow alleys and climb stairs. In standby mode, the robot crouches down to rest. The 2025 Japan Mobility Show runs from October 30 to November 9 in Tokyo. Toyota's booth also displayed a six-wheel Lexus concept MPV, the IMV0 pickup concept, the new FJ Cruiser, the RAV4, and other products.
