BYD Yangwang U8 Rolls Out OTA Update Covering Three Models, Adds Apple CarPlay

On November 3, BYD's Yangwang U8 began rolling out an OTA update covering three models: the 2023 U8 Luxury Edition, the 2024 U8 Off-road Player Edition, and the 2026 U8 Luxury Edition. The vehicle now features Sentry Mode with custom activation periods and trusted locations. Users can schedule when Sentry Mode turns on and off, and after setting trusted locations, the vehicle will not automatically activate Sentry Mode within those areas. The feature also supports a battery threshold setting, automatically disabling Sentry Mode when the battery drops below the set level. The infotainment system now includes a memory function for the Yi Si Fang 2D and 3D interfaces. Users can switch between 2D and 3D views via the top-left corner of the Yi Si Fang app, and the system will remember the page state from before exit. A clock widget has been added to the center display's home screen, showing the time, date, and day of the week, with support for customizable placement. The vehicle has officially launched Apple CarPlay, presented in a small-window format, with navigation, phone, music, messages, and other CarPlay apps running in independent small windows. The vehicle now features an intelligent sound field focusing mode, where the system automatically adjusts the audio sound field based on the seating positions of occupants. A feedback button for assisted driving issues has been added to the God's Eye app. The vehicle now includes an exterior voice announcement for unclosed doors during remote parking. When a door or the tailgate is not properly closed and remote parking is initiated, the vehicle emits a prompt through the exterior speaker. In assisted driving mode, if the driver's hands are off the steering wheel for an extended period, the vehicle decelerates and stops while the seatbelt provides a vibration alert. A curve over-speed reminder setting has also been launched, providing text and voice warnings when the vehicle speed exceeds a safe cornering speed. Other updates include: the Yunian 3D vehicle model has been upgraded to a solid model that restores the original body color; smart charging now features 3D animations; a Qishui Music icon has been added to the Dynamic Island; a quick toggle for daytime running lights has been added to the headlight controls in the bottom navigation bar; and the 2026 Luxury Edition now includes seat ventilation and heating memory across power cycles, as well as voice-controlled exterior mirror adjustment.
