On June 12, 2020, IIA learned from Bentley that the L series V8 engine, born in 1959, has finally reached the end of its handcrafted manufacturing run. The models equipped with this engine are luxury models, that is, the 6.75L V8 twin-turbocharged engine commonly seen on Bentley and Rolls-Royce models.

Few cars have more than half a century of history, let alone an engine. In some of our common models, even the same generation of products may also replace the powertrain in the mid-term facelift. This 6.75L V8 twin-turbo engine can go through 61 years in generation after generation.

During these 61 years, this engine had also undergone upgrading and optimizations. However, some fundamental parameters of the engine have never been changed, such as piston stroke, cylinder diameter, number of valves, and exhaust volume, which are completely consistent with the beginning of 61 years ago.

With the continuous optimization in 61 years, this engine has changed from the original 132kW to the current 420kW. Although the basic parameters have not changed, the power output of this engine is constantly strengthening. Although it has witnessed history, it does not lag behind history.
