On February 3, SVOLT Energy unveiled its new Dragon Scale Armor 3.0 battery pack system, which for the first time achieves "separation of electrical and thermal pathways" in prismatic cells—physically isolating the terminals (electricity) from the pressure-relief channels (fire). In the event of thermal runaway, flames can be directionally vented, enhancing occupant safety. The system is compatible with CTC/CTB technologies, featuring load-bearing capability on the top of the cells and integrating pressure-relief and crash-protection zones at the bottom. Through offset tab design and structural optimization, energy capacity increases by 7–10%. An additional 5 mm in cell height further boosts capacity by 8%. Combined with semi-solid-state technology, the self-heating onset temperature of the cells rises by 8°C, the thermal runaway initiation temperature increases by 5°C, the safety buffer time extends by 10%, and the probability of thermal runaway decreases by 25%. SVOLT Energy will mass-produce two high-capacity battery packs—86 kWh for plug-in hybrids and 115 kWh for battery-electric vehicles—to address diverse market demands.
