On February 26, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz concluded a two-day visit to China. Leading a delegation of over 30 senior executives from German companies, he traveled to Beijing and Hangzhou, focusing on advancing Sino-German cooperation in sectors such as automotive, mechanical engineering, and electrical equipment. Currently, around 5,200 German enterprises operate in China, making it one of Germany's most important overseas investment destinations. In 2025, China is set to once again become Germany’s largest trading partner. In Beijing, Merz visited Mercedes-Benz and test-drove an intelligent driver-assistance vehicle co-developed with Momenta. In Hangzhou, he toured Unitree Robotics and Siemens Energy. The visit underscored the shared commitment of both sides to deepen economic and technological collaboration.
