2026-04-21 21:21:09On April 21 local time, the Center of Automotive Management (CAM) in Germany released its "Automotive Innovation Report 2026," unveiling the latest global ranking of automotive industry innovation. BYD topped the list with 157 points, becoming the first Chinese automaker to claim the number-one spot since the ranking's inception in 2005, surpassing last year's champion Volkswagen (143 points). Mercedes-Benz ranked third with 134 points, followed by XPeng (128 points), BMW, and Geely Group in fourth through sixth places, respectively. Renault, Toyota, General Motors, and Hyundai also made it into the top ten.
