The all-new BMW X6 is scheduled to enter production in April 2028, debuting both a fully electric variant—the iX6 (codenamed G96)—and an all-new high-performance X6 M version. The vehicle adopts BMW’s latest design language, retaining the iconic kidney grille and “angel eye” headlights while integrating LED accent lighting into both the grille and headlight clusters to create a distinctive “angel wings” front fascia. Its body features a sleek fastback coupe-SUV silhouette, complemented by flush door handles and slimmer lighting units to enhance aerodynamic efficiency. The all-electric iX6 will feature a closed-off grille. The new X6 is expected to have a wheelbase of approximately 2,970 mm and an overall length nearing 4,900 mm. The combustion-engine X6 will continue offering inline-six and V8 powertrains across the lineup, all paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system, delivering outputs ranging from 250 kW to 390 kW. The iX6 will utilize BMW’s next-generation electric drive system: the single-motor variant will produce around 200 kW, while the dual-motor all-wheel-drive version is expected to exceed 400 kW in combined output. Battery capacity could surpass 100 kWh, enabling a projected range of over 600 km under both CLTC and WLTP testing cycles. It remains unconfirmed whether a plug-in hybrid variant will continue to be offered.
