On May 14, 2024, Banma Technologies announced that Stefan Ortmanns has officially joined the company as Head of European Operations, taking full responsibility for its strategic planning, business expansion, and localized operations in the European market. With over 20 years of industry experience, Ortmanns previously served as CEO and Director of Cerence Inc., where he led core product development, operational management, and strategic partnerships. The conversational AI solutions he spearheaded have been adopted by the majority of the world’s leading automakers. This appointment aims to accelerate the deployment of Banma’s premium intelligent cockpit solutions—based on dual platforms including Qualcomm’s SA8295, SA8397, and Huawei’s Kirin 9610A—in the luxury vehicle markets of Europe and North America, and to drive the commercialization of on-device large models, multimodal interaction, and embodied intelligence technologies in these regions. Banma has already deepened its collaboration with a global luxury automaker, with cockpit products featuring multiple AI capabilities expected to be delivered by 2026. Additionally, the company has secured new orders covering multiple vehicle models from another international OEM. These products have already obtained certifications for over 100 countries and will first be launched in Australia, Southeast Asia, South America, and the Middle East.
