Tesla has unveiled its Summer 2026 software update, expected to carry the version number 2026.26. This update introduces a range of new features, including expanded vehicle control capabilities for the Grok voice assistant, navigation system memory for frequently used routes, the ability to upload custom vehicle wraps via the Tesla app, refined Auto Navigation logic, and a new Caraoke scoring feature. Grok now supports additional voice commands such as making phone calls, searching for and playing music, adjusting climate settings, opening the glovebox, and potentially controlling seat heating and ventilation. Combined with the “Hey, Grok” wake word, these functions offer faster operation than using the central touchscreen. This capability will roll out across Europe. Users can now directly upload custom vehicle wrap files through the Tesla app without needing a USB drive. The app also adds a new option to reserve battery charge upon arrival at a destination. Auto Navigation will no longer be limited to Home, Work, or calendar-based locations—it will now include destinations users visit frequently. The system will prioritize historical driving routes but will still recommend the fastest path when it’s significantly quicker. The Caraoke feature now includes singing scoring, available only when the vehicle is parked. This enhancement makes the previously released Caraoke microphone accessory more useful, and future updates may add recording functionality. All vehicle models will gain on-screen seat adjustment controls—a feature previously exclusive to Standard Range variants lacking physical buttons. Parental Controls now include an option to lock rear displays, preventing rear passengers from accidentally altering entertainment settings or vehicle configurations. FSD usage data is now viewable in the Tesla app, including continuous usage logs, tutorial content, and total miles driven with FSD. Users can also adjust the zoom level of the FSD visualization interface. With user permission, the built-in browser can access the cabin camera and microphone, enabling web-based applications like Discord, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams. Vehicles based on the AMD platform already support Zoom. Newer Model 3 vehicles (2024 and later) and refreshed Model Ys will receive updated startup animations. Apple Music improvements allow users to add songs directly to the playback queue from search results or artist pages. Supercharger station searches now support name-based queries, such as “Tesla Diner.” This update has not yet been officially rolled out, and the final feature list may be subject to change. Tesla stated the update will begin “rolling out very soon” using a gradual deployment strategy—initially reaching fewer than 1% of vehicles. FSD Beta users will need to wait until the features are integrated before receiving the update.
