The electric vehicle brand SF MOTORS, which was established in Silicon Valley, USA, was officially released in March this year. Its Chinese name is “Jinguo (in Pingyin) EV”. Currently, its 100% equity is currently held by Chongqing Jinkang New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd.. IIA learned from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of People’s Republic of China (MIIT) that Jinkang New Energy appeared in the list of to-be-approved new vehicle manufacturers released by MIIT on September 17. That is to say that, after the formal approval, Jinkang New Energy will become the ninth enterprise to obtain the qualification in both manufacturing and selling NEVs, also known as the “Dual-qualification” approved by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and MIIT.
According to the No. 312 "Motor Vehicle Manufacturing Enterprises and Products Announcement" issued by MIIT, Chongqing Jinkang New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. will become qualified in "pure electric passenger car manufacturing". After the formal approval, it will obtain the "Dual-qualification" to produce the SF MOTORS models. At present, only 8 enterprises in China have obtained the qualification.
According to previous news, the first model of SF MOTORS is the SF 5. The car will be produced at a smart factory in Chongqing, southwest China and begin mass production next January. The car will start to make reservations next March and be officially sold in the third quarter of next year.
The SF 5 is a pure electric intelligent SUV with an appearance of coupe SUV design. The design of its back is so dynamic, providing the new car easy to be recognized. In terms of power, the SF 5 will adopt the company's newly developed four-motor drive technology, with a peak torque of 976 Nm, allowing the vehicle to reach 100km/h within 3 seconds. Meanwhile, the cruising range will also exceed 500km.
