The Cadillac CT4 is a new medium-sized luxury sedan built on the Alpha vertical rear-drive platform, which has been released in overseas markets. On October 20th, IIA learned from SAIC-GM that the Cadillac CT4 Chinese version was officially unveiled. The new car is positioned below the Cadillac CT5 and is scheduled to be launched in 2020. After completing the layout of the SUV market, Cadillac will focus on the sedan segment, which will play a positive role in the overall sales of the brand.

Referring to the overseas version, the exterior of the Cadillac CT4 will be available in two version, the Sport version and the Deluxe version. The overall shape of the Sport version is radical, and the shield-type grille mated with its brand LOGO and the large trapezoidal air intake below makes the new car look sporty. The inverted L-shaped headlights on both sides are slimmer and can offer a better visual effect.

However, the deluxe version is equipped with a chrome grille, and the side window frame is also chrome-plated. The taillights are all in red, and the car adopts the dual-sided four-exhaust pipe.

The interior of the Cadillac CT4 Chinese version is expected to remain the same design as the overseas version. The interior is double-colored and decorated with chrome trim around the door handle, air conditioning vents and handles. Moreover, the new car center console uses several composite lines, mated with a large-sized LCD screen and a polygonal air conditioning air outlet, further enhance the interior layering.

In terms of configuration, the overseas version comes standard with a driver assistance technology kit, including frontal collision warning and braking for pedestrian, safety warning seat, reflective LED windshield collision alarm, auto-dimming mirror and rear parking assist.

The Cadillac CT4 is expected to be powered by the same new 2.0T variable-cylinder turbocharged engine as the CT5, with a maximum power of 177 kW and a peak torque of 350 Nm. In terms of the transmission system, the engine will be matched with the new 10-speed automatic manual transmission.
