On August 15th, FAW Mazda’s new CX-4 was officially launched. The new car launched this time offers two engine displacements of 2.0L and 2.5L, a total of 8 models, and the price range is 148,800 to 215,800 yuan. As a facelift, the changes between the new car and the old model are mainly focused on the improvement of driving assistance and technological configuration.
There is no significant difference in design between the new Mazda CX-4 and the previous model. The new car still uses the coupe SUV body layout. Mazda's family-oriented soul-moving design is composed of smooth lines, combined with a low body, creating a very dynamic visual effect. The new car also uses a dark A-pillar and dark crossover kit, which is in line with its SUV model positioning.
For the interior, the new car also adopts the Mazda family design style, the driver-centric cockpit layout, the suspended 8-inch central control panel integrates MZD CONNECT, and adds the intelligent network connection function.
The new car provides functions including AEB automatic brake assist, adaptive cruise, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, reversing warning, 360° parking image and adaptive high beam control. By upgrading the driving assistance and active safety functions, the competitiveness of the new car has been further improved.
It is worth mentioning that FAW Mazda has also upgraded the quietness of the NHV compartment of the new CX-4. According to reports, the new car provides better sound insulation and driving comfort for the cabin through the new quiet technology and vibration filtering technology.
In terms of power, the new Mazda CX-4 is still equipped with 2.0L and 2.5L SKYACTIV Technology naturally aspirated engines with maximum power of 116kW and 141kW, and maximum torque of 202N·m and 252N·m, respectively. The transmission system is matched with a 6-speed automatic manual gearbox. In addition, the 2.5L model also provides i-Activ AWD intelligent four-wheel drive system.
According to data, the domestic market of Mazda CX-4 sold 4,813 units in July, and the cumulative domestic market sales from January to July were 28,362 units, accounting for 60% of FAW Mazda's sales (47,183 units) from January to July. As the main model under the brand, the new Mazda CX-4 upgrade project launched this time can be said to be highly targeted. Whether it is more comprehensive driving assistance functions or optimized NVH quietness, the overall product strength of the new car is more balanced. In the context of the gradual rejuvenation of the automobile consumer market, the Mazda CX-4 model, which is positioned as a coupe SUV, is in line with the demands of current young users for personality, sense of value and driving pleasure.
