Great Wall Pao is the flagship model of Great Wall Pickup. There are currently four products: Great Wall Pao passenger pickup, Great Wall Pao commercial pickup, Great Wall Pao off-road pickup and Great Wall Pao EV pickup. A few days ago, IIA learned from Great Wall that the 100,000th Great Wall Pao has officially rolled off the assembly line at Great Wall Motor’s Chongqing Smart Plant.
Great Wall Motor Chongqing Plant started construction in March 2018, with a total investment of 4.5 billion yuan, covering an area of 708,000 square meters and a building area of 366,000 square meters. It took only 14 months from start-up to production. The plant has an annual production capacity of 160,000 vehicles, with an annual output value of about 25 billion yuan. It mainly produces non-carrying vehicles such as Great Wall Pao series pickups and H9.
Great Wall Pao Passenger Edition
In terms of appearance, the front face of the Great Wall Pao Passenger Edition adopts a trapezoidal large-mouth grille design, and the three-banner chrome-plated decorative strip is more tense. The headlights use LED light source, which is very technological after being lit. The bottom is equipped with a large front bumper, and is designed with black material, connected with the side fenders, and the shape is wild.
Great Wall Pao Commercial Edition
The Great Wall Pao commercial edition adopts a different design from the passenger edition in appearance, and the style is more concise and capable. The front face of the new car is a dot matrix design. At the same time, there are lenses inside the headlights on both sides, and a larger trapezoidal grille is used below.
Great Wall Pao Off-Road Edition
In addition to the above two models, the Great Wall Pao series also has an off-road edition and an EV electric edition. Among them, the appearance of the Great Wall Pao off-road edition adds a large number of off-road kits, making it more radical than the other two versions. The mid-grid, bottom bumper and fenders are all made of black matt material, with a hardline visual effect.
Great Wall Pao EV
The front face of the Great Wall Pao EV electric pickup adopts a trapezoidal large-mouth grille design. At the same time, there are lenses inside the headlights on both sides, and a larger trapezoidal design is adopted below. Although this pickup is an electric version, its shape is also very wild. In terms of power, the electric motor mounted on the Great Wall Pao EV has a maximum power of 150kW, a torque of 300N·m, and a cruising range of 405km. At the same time, the car is equipped with a coaxial integrated electronic drive axle and can also be equipped with a differential lock.
Great Wall pickups was sold 22,885 vehicles in September, an increase of 67% year-on-year and a month-on-month increase of 9%. The monthly sales volume exceeded 20,000 for five consecutive months. From January to September, the cumulative sales of Great Wall pickup trucks totaled 160,351 units, up 63% year-on-year. It is worth mentioning that at present, Great Wall pickup trucks have ranked first in domestic and export sales for 22 consecutive years, with cumulative global sales of 1.8 million vehicles.
