IIA learned that Toyota (including Toyota and Lexus brands) global sales reached 847,000 in October, an increase of 8.3% year-on-year. There has also been an increase in production to 845,000 vehicles, an increase of 9%, and both production and sales have increased in the past two months.
The main factor that helped Toyota's sales growth was the recovery of the two major markets in China and the United States. In October, sales in the U.S. market increased by 8.8% year-on-year, while sales of new vehicles (Toyota and Lexus brands) in China reached 200,000 in October. Among them, the Toyota brand increased by 33.3% year-on-year, and the Lexus brand increased by 44.4% year-on-year.
At the Guangzhou Auto Show this year, GAC Toyota specifically developed a new car, the LEVIN GT, for the Chinese market. The new car is based on Toyota's TNGA architecture with a wheelbase of 2750mm and is positioned as an A+ class sedan, between LEVIN and Camry. And FAW Toyota has brought consumers a new model ALLION, which is also based on Toyota's TNGA architecture. Both models are highly competitive, and sales next year are bound to increase a lot.
