GAC sold over 217,000 vehicles in Jan, up 23.3% YoY

IIA learned that GAC Group’s January production reached 192,000 vehicles, an increase of 39% year-on-year and an increase of 5.21% from 2019. Sales in January were 217,000 units, an increase of 23.3% year-on-year and an increase of 3.64% from 2019.

In terms of joint venture brands, GAC Honda produced 63,329 vehicles in January, an increase of 37% year-on-year, and sales in January were 77,625, an increase of 24.2% year-on-year. GAC Toyota produced 79,778 vehicles in January, an increase of 48.6% year-on-year, and sales in January reached 89,800 vehicles, an increase of 32.8% year-on-year.

As for its own brands, GAC Trumpchi produced 31,339 units in January, an increase of 21.1% year-on-year; January sales were 34,400 units, an increase of 5.1% year-on-year, and sales exceeded 30,000 units for the fifth consecutive month. The Trumpchi M8 and M6 sales totaled 9,455 units, an increase of 105.1% year-on-year, and the M8 sales increased 161% year-on-year.

GAC Aion produced 7,347 units in January, an increase of 143.7% year-on-year. Sales in January were 7,356 units, an increase of 149.4% year-on-year. Sales of AION S exceeded 6,000 for the first time, an increase of 130.1% year-on-year.

In terms of sedans, GAC Group sold 93,290 vehicles in January, an increase of 11% year-on-year and 2.1% month-on-month. 108,722 SUV sales, a year-on-year increase of 29.9% and a month-on-month increase of 6.4%. MPV sales amounted to 15,088 units, a year-on-year increase of 80.8% and a month-on-month increase of 1.7%. In terms of PHEVs, GAC Honda’s hybrid models sold 10,348 units, accounting for 13.33, a year-on-year increase of 47.62%. The sales volume of GAC Toyota's hybrid models was 11,451, accounting for 12.75%, a year-on-year increase of 291.35%.

Specifically, sales of the LEVIN series are 29,139 units, VEZEL 21,001 units, Camry series 20,037 units, Accord series 19,614 units, BREEZE series 16,904 units, Trumpchi GS4 series 14,375 units, Wildlander series 12,271 units, Highlander series 11,499 units, YARiS L family 10,415 vehicles.
