Driven by strong market demand, Dodge Ram will fully restart production of the Hemi V8 engine in 2026. Under the leadership of Tim Kuniskis—a newly appointed executive and muscle car enthusiast—Stellantis plans to more than triple annual Hemi engine output, which has already surpassed 100,000 units this year. Currently, the 5.7L, 6.4L, and supercharged 6.2L Hemi V8 engines are being produced at the Saltillo plant in Mexico alongside the 3.0L twin-turbo "Hurricane" inline-six engine—the originally planned replacement—on the same production line. Kuniskis forecasts that approximately 35% of Dodge Ram models in 2026 will be equipped with the Hemi V8, catering to sustained consumer demand for large-displacement engines and underscoring the importance of offering diverse powertrain options.
