Starting April 1, 2026, XPeng Motors officially changed its name to "XPeng Group," marking the company's strategic transformation from an automaker to a technology company. On April 4, He Xiaopeng, Chairman of XPeng Group, stated in a media interview that scale is no longer the key variable for the future of the automotive industry—innovation and transformation are now the core sources of value. He believes the next four to five years will be a turning point for China’s auto sector, where scale will serve merely as a prerequisite for competition, not a decisive factor for success. He Xiaopeng noted that over the past decade, the company’s core business has centered on automobiles, but in the coming decade, XPeng will prioritize integrating new energy vehicles with intelligent agents and advancing into robotics-driven technological transformation. He highlighted that XPeng delivered 429,445 vehicles in 2025, a 125.9% year-over-year increase. The company plans to continue advancing its physical AI technology development, accelerate product innovation, expand into global markets, and achieve a leap from L2+ advanced driver-assistance systems to L4 autonomous driving. Additionally, the second-generation VLA system will be rapidly rolled out overseas, and high-end humanoid robots will enter mass production.
