On April 16, Leapmotor officially launched and began sales of its new flagship model, the D19, priced between RMB 219,800 and RMB 269,800. The D19 is among the world’s first vehicles equipped with dual Snapdragon Ride Platform Premium Edition (dual Snapdragon 8797) chips, featuring a dual-SoC architecture powered by two of these platform SoCs. Compared to its predecessor, the Snapdragon Ride Platform Premium Edition delivers nearly triple the CPU and GPU performance and a 12-fold increase in AI performance from its dedicated NPU. It supports over 40 cameras and multimodal sensors, enabling AI-based end-to-end sensor fusion and generating a 360-degree surround-view image with up to 16-megapixel resolution. Leveraging the flexible architecture of the dual Snapdragon 8797 chips, the Leapmotor D19 integrates intelligent cockpit functions, driver assistance systems, body control (including lighting, climate, doors, and windows), and the vehicle gateway into a centralized domain controller. This simplifies the vehicle’s overall electronic/electrical architecture while enhancing system responsiveness and coordination efficiency. The design enables seamless interaction between cabin and driving functions—for example, allowing drivers to maneuver the car out of a parking space via gesture control. Additionally, the integrated Qualcomm Adreno GPU within the dual Snapdragon 8797 chips can simultaneously drive five displays: a 21.4-inch 3K electric entertainment screen, a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, a 17.3-inch center console touchscreen, a 60-inch AR-HUD, and a 6-inch rear-seat control screen—delivering seamless, interconnected experiences across all five screens. The Leapmotor D19 is the first model in the Leapmotor D series, and its launch marks a significant milestone in the decade-long collaboration between Leapmotor and Qualcomm based on the Snapdragon Digital Chassis solution. More flagship models in the Leapmotor D series featuring dual Snapdragon 8797 chips will be introduced in the future.
