Tencent Launches and Open-Sources HunYuan Hy3 Preview Model; Tesla Reports Strong Revenue and Profit Growth for Q1 2026

On April 23, Tencent released its HunYuan Hy3 preview language model and announced it would be open-sourced. Described as "the first model trained after HunYuan's reconstruction," it features improvements in complex reasoning, instruction following, in-context learning, code understanding, and agent interaction. Separately, according to Tesla's Q1 2026 financial report, the company reported revenue of $22.39 billion, up 16% year-over-year; operating profit reached $940 million, a 136% increase year-over-year; and gross margin stood at 21.1%, up 4.8 percentage points year-over-year. Tesla’s CFO stated that high oil prices have driven order growth, with Q1 order backlog reaching its highest level in over two years, and deliveries in Europe rising more than 150% quarter-over-quarter.
