On April 24, 2026, the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition opened. Qualcomm, together with over 60 participating companies, showcased multiple technological advancements in automotive intelligence at the event. The first vehicles equipped with the Snapdragon Automotive Platforms Elite Edition—including the Snapdragon 8797 and 8397—made their debut. The Leapmotor D19 and D99 both feature dual Snapdragon 8797 chips, enabling five-screen synergy, on-device large AI models, and the ADAS VLA multimodal model. The FREELANDER CONCEPT 97—a joint brand vehicle from Chery and Jaguar Land Rover—is powered by the Snapdragon 8397, integrating AI-powered cockpit capabilities with all-terrain SUV features. Multiple partners disclosed mass-production progress based on the Elite Edition platforms: DeepRoute.ai has begun shipping its ADAS solution built on the Snapdragon 8797; Huaqin is developing smart cockpit products using the Snapdragon 8397; and Harman is working on next-generation central compute units and cockpit domain controllers based on this platform, expected to be ready for mass production in the second half of 2026. In AI applications, Banma Intelligence demonstrated a full-modal, on-device large model solution running on the Snapdragon 8397 in a real vehicle. ThunderSoft unveiled DropWater AIOS 2.1, an operating system built on the Elite Edition platform that upgrades user experience from “reactive” to “proactive, holistic intelligence.” The Snapdragon Ride platform is accelerating the mass deployment of ADAS solutions. It currently supports more than 30 Chinese automotive ecosystem partners and will enable the production of over 20 new global vehicle models between early 2026 and mid-2027. Chery announced a collaboration with Qualcomm to develop an intelligent driving assistance solution based on Snapdragon Ride, with related models slated for launch later this year. The GAC Aion N60, equipped with the Snapdragon 8650, supports advanced driver-assistance functions, while DeepRoute.ai’s domain controller based on this chip has already achieved mass production of urban navigation ADAS solutions. Cockpit-ADAS convergence and central computing emerged as key themes of this year’s auto show. BAIC Arcfox showcased the Alpha S5 and WenDao V9 models based on Snapdragon Ride Flex (Snapdragon 8775), with the latter supporting instant voice control and touch response. BAIC Group signed a memorandum of understanding with Qualcomm to advance cockpit-ADAS integrated solutions. As the industry’s first SoC capable of simultaneously supporting both cockpit and ADAS functions, Snapdragon Ride Flex has already been deployed in eight global production vehicle models, with more than ten Chinese automakers and partners either adopting or planning to adopt the platform. This year’s exhibition highlighted Qualcomm’s phased achievements in advancing the automotive industry toward an “AI-defined” future through the Snapdragon Digital Chassis, which integrates critical capabilities across the vehicle stack.
