On April 27, Chery held the global launch event for its MOJIA robotics brand in Wuhu, Anhui Province, officially unveiling a product portfolio that includes the humanoid robot MOYIN, intelligent police robots, medical guidance robots, and robotic dogs. Among them, the MOJIA Intelligent Police Robot has already secured contracts for 1,030 units and delivered 110 units in bulk. It is now deployed in real-world scenarios such as school safety posts in Wuhu, the Jiangyin Marathon, and events in Changzhou, performing tasks like traffic management, illegal parking enforcement, and event security. Yin Tongyue, Chairman of Chery Group, stated that intelligent vehicles and robots share highly similar foundational technologies in perception, planning, and control. Chery is enhancing robot reliability, cost-efficiency, and lifespan, leveraging validation across over 100 real-world scenarios in more than 50 countries to accelerate large-scale commercialization. MOJIA also announced the launch of the “Qizhi Jiatiandxia Robot Leasing Platform” and initiated talent development collaborations with over 100 universities. The company plans a phased rollout: starting with child companionship applications, expanding into public and enterprise services, and ultimately entering household settings. Backed by Chery’s automotive sales network spanning over 130 countries, MOJIA is building an integrated sales channel combining dedicated stores, 4S dealerships, and shopping malls. Meanwhile, Embodied intelligence company Xingdong Era recently closed a new funding round exceeding $200 million, led by SF Group with participation from Sequoia China, IDG Capital, CICC Capital, Dongfeng Industrial Investment, Kejie Intelligence, ICBC Capital, and funds under China Unicom, among others. Existing investors Qingkong Tiancheng and Hongruida also increased their stakes. Founded within the past three years, the company has accumulated over RMB 5 billion in commercial orders as of the end of 2025 and plans to begin batch deliveries at the thousand-unit scale in Q2 2026, targeting a 300% growth rate. Additionally, on April 29, Lingxin Qiaoshou announced the completion of its Series B+ financing round, with investments from Zhongguancun Science City Fund, Bank of China Asset Management, Fosun Fortune, and continued support from existing shareholders. The company is the world’s only producer achieving monthly shipments exceeding 4,000 dexterous hands, capturing over 80% of the high-degree-of-freedom dexterous hand market. The new funds will be used to scale up production capacity, aiming for monthly deliveries surpassing 10,000 units, supported by a closed-loop manufacturing model where “dexterous hands produce dexterous hands” to secure core component supply. In capital markets, humanoid robot-related stocks have recently gained momentum. Haichang New Materials’ share price rose over 12%, while Zhejiang Rongtai and Efort saw gains exceeding 6%. Haichang New Materials specializes in powder metallurgy products and has expanded into MIM, SMC soft magnetic materials, and precision gears, serving the automotive, robotics, and new energy sectors. In related news, Japan Airlines announced it will begin trialing humanoid robots for ground services at Tokyo Haneda Airport starting in May. On April 26, SuperDimension Power unveiled its full-size humanoid robot “KAI,” featuring 115 degrees of freedom (DoF) across the body and 36 DoF in each hand. Equipped with a 1.7 kWh semi-solid-state battery, KAI supports three hours of continuous dual-arm operation with a combined payload capacity of nearly 20 kg. Its full-body tactile skin integrates 18,000 touch sensors capable of detecting forces as low as 0.1N. The robot’s world model system incorporates action generation, base-model prediction, and evaluation modules, forming a closed-loop decision-making mechanism.
